You Will Need:
» » wooden coca-cola crate (without wooden dividers inside)
» » twine
» » thumb tacks
» » about six photos
DIY Instructions:
Cut the twine to length and use thumb tacks to attach two lengths across the length of the box, as shown.
Attach photos to the lengths of twine with miniature clothes pins (from Hobby Lobby, Michaels, similar craft stores, or online at Amazon: BAZIC Mini Colored Clothespin, 50 Per Pack (3439-24P).
Mount the box on the wall or on a display stand of appropriate height for viewing the photographs.
If you’re an avid bird watcher who takes lots of photos, use the coca-cola frame for a changing display of bird shots for every season of the year.
Variations on this theme:
Here, the depth of the crates is used like a shadow box, with larger photos or artwork in the back and three-dimensional items or artifacts on top or assembled in the front.
- Assemble favorite family snapshots at the back of the box and arrange miniature keepsakes in front of the photos.
- Put a theme photo at the back of the crate and arrange favorite models or toys in a complementary theme in front.
- Use wooden dividers inside the crate to separate and define a matching set of photos. Use the top of the crate as a shelf for more display area.
