Step-by-Step Instructions
- How to make the Bunny Ears
If using a craft foam sheet and the printable pattern, trace around and cut two of the largest sized heart patterns (B) from the foam. You now have two heart shapes.
Cut one heart in half, straight down the middle, then cut an arch at the top of each piece to make the bunny ears.
Trace around each of the ears on pink craft foam, then cut the pink inner ears out, making each one slightly smaller than its traced shape to easily fit inside the larger white ear.
Set all four ear pieces aside. - Attach Eyes and Kebab Stick
Attach the self-adhesive plastic eyes, as shown, near the sharp end of the main facial heart shape. Apply glue to the lower edge of the heart and position the blunt end of a kebab stick in the middle.
- Glue on the Pompoms, Whiskers and Ribbon Bow
Press the two white pompoms firmly into the glue, leaving a little space at the bottom for the ribbon bow.
Dip the smaller pink pompom in glue, then press it firmly on top of the two white pompoms.
Cut 1-1/2″ whiskers from a brush or broom. Use tweezers to pick up and dip each bristle into glue then push each bristle into place under the pompoms.
Apply glue generously to the back of a small bow then press it down just below the heart. The bow worn by our bunny was made by weaving ribbon around the tines of a dinner fork! - Attach the Bunny Ears
Apply glue to the bottom of one of the white ear pieces and gently tuck this area under the top left side of the bunny face. Repeat with the other white ear on the right side.
Apply glue to the back of one of the pink inner ear pieces then glue it in place on the corresponding white ear. Repeat with the other pink inner ear piece. - Make an Foam Bunny Plant Poke
Finally, let the glue dry before using your craft foam bunny as a plant poke. Simply insert the kebab stick or dowel into the soil of a pretty plant and let the animals enjoy the view.
