Transform plain bisque ornaments into blue bisque angel ornaments.
To view a similar version of this craft in white and gold, see our Of Days Past Ornaments project.
Craft Supplies:
- Bisque Ornament [available at craft shops]
- White Acrylic Paint
- Blue Acrylic Paint [I used Wedgewood Blue]
- Angel sticker of choice
- Delta Ceramcoat Fine Crackle [Step 1 and 2]
- Gloss Varnish
- Small Paint Brush
- Liner Paint Brush
Paint your ornament white. Allow the paint to dry completely. Mix together one part water and one part blue paint. Paint the center circle of ornament with this mixture, adding or removing paint with damp soft cloth as desired. You want an uneven and slightly transparent finish.
Allow the paint to dry completely.
Place an angel sticker at the center as seen in photo. Press firmly in place.
Following the manufacturer instructions, apply crackle medium to the entire ornament.
Once your crackle is completely set, apply white paint to all blue painted areas.
With a slightly damp cloth, wipe away excess paint, so that the cracks are filled with paint and very small amounts of white paint is visible over the painted area. Repeat with blue paint, applying to all of the white areas, again filling the cracks and wiping away excess paint.
Allow to dry and apply a gloss varnish to entire ornament.
