Vintage Knitted Golf Club Covers Pattern
This vintage pattern for golf club covers comes from the ‘Lux Knitting Book’ published by Lever Brothers in 1938.
It includes directions to make a set of three golf club covers – for driver, brassie and spoon clubs – wooden golf clubs which were in common use then, but are now antiques.
You can read more about these Obsolete Golf Clubs on Wikipedia or in this brief Golf Club History.
From the Original Pattern:
Measurements: Shaft cover 8 inches; club head cover 3-3/4 inches long and to fit an 8 inch club head.
“A good set of woods is a golfer’s most prized possession. These very practical, easy-to-make covers will protect them, help keep them shiny as new. Notice the striping that distinguishes each club. If you’re not bitten with the golf bug yourself make them as a present for someone who is.”
