This vintage pattern for a knitted teacosy cover is extracted from Woolcraft: A Practical Guide to Knitting & Crochet.
Originally published in 1915 in Halifax, England by Patons and Baldwin, Woolcraft was part of a collection of knitting and crochet “recipe” booklets designed for use with Patons and Baldwin wool yarns.
It offers a knitting and crochet needle gauge, a discussion of the various types of wool used, and “Reliable Instructions on the Use of Knitting Wools in the production by hand of Serviceable Garments for Every-day Wear.
Thanks to the laudable efforts of the Antique Pattern Library this booklet (Beehive Knitting Booklet No. 9) has been scanned into three separate PDF files and is available for free viewing or download.
