Crochet a towel holder in patriotic colors.
by Twila Lenoir
You can crochet these hand towel holders in any colors, of course, but we used red, white and blue for the sample to help show you how the pattern is worked (and because we wanted patriotic towel holders).
Craft supplies:
- Scrap yarn, in your choice of colors. (We used red, white, and royal blue).
- Buttons – We used wooden stars and drilled holes in them to make buttons.
- 3 inch gold metal ring. 40cs.
- H crochet hook.
.
Pattern Instructions:
With royal blue, work 55 sc on ring, sl st on first sc. Ch 3, turn.
Row 1, dc in the next 10 sc. Ch 1, turn.
Row 2, sc in the next 10 dc, Ch 3 turn.
Rows 3-16 work Rows 1 and Rws 2 alternately, until you reach Row 16. Change color with white and Ch 4, turn.
Row 17 (skip the next 2 sc, and sc in the next sc) twice), Ch 4, skip next 2 sc and then sc in the next sc spc, until you get to the last sc spc, Ch 4 and sc in the first sc on the ring, Ch 4, skip next 2 sc on ring, sc in the next sc, around. Repeat as the left side (first). Sl st in first white Ch 4, change color with red, and Ch 5 and sc in each white Ch 4, around. Fasten off and weave in tail ends of yarn.
Right side facing you. Sew on middle button on the 8th sc row. Fold the top towards (back) you and, if desired, sew two star buttons on the 15th dc row.
Enjoy!
